Cheaper Prefolds?

are there more affordable prefolds than what Green mountain offers?

I was going to go with them for 12 newborn yellow edge and 12 orange infant edge but i still need to but snapies & a few more covers let alone 2 wetbags.

The Costs are starting to overwhelm me I know it will outweigh the future costs and ive been stalking used CD sites but we just paid taxes and things are tight. I want to finish up my stash but am can't commit on the cost.

Ive read Gerber ones are not very good for diapering as much as they are for spit rags.

I keep trying to price compare all the different websites & its making me crosseyed.

any cheaper yet quality suggestions for buying 24 newborn/ infant prefolds online?

are you willing to try second hand? Check ebay, craigslist and kijiji. look at getting a starter set maybe too? I am not sure of the quality or what your budget is, but buying a starter kit is something that could work too...check around for ones with newborn sizes if you want smaller ones...

I have heard the Osocozy brand are decent. I have a friend who is selling a dozen of them - PM me if you might be interested.

Thanks I'll look into them, I'm fine with used just haven't found any used that are not just as expensive as new.

If you can't find used, you could try to DIY it if money is tight. I hear flannel receiving blankets or sheets make great flats. I jus made some fitteds out of receiving blankets and beach towels that are pretty sweet. If you need wet bags for daycare that's probably important but for the house I just use a regular nylon laundry bag.

jilliansdrawers.com sells used prefolds (osocozy) in fair condition for a dollar each...that is definitely cheaper than new GMDs.

I stalked Ebay religiously to get great deals on prefolds because I didn't want to spend so much. So far I've gotten 48 prefolds in new or excellent used for about $60--including GMD, Osocozy, and Doodle Diapers. I'm actually wanting to sell a dozen of them if you'd be interested PM me, I'd cut ya a deal

I am in the same boat as you. I was about to order the GMDs, but am now going for the Imagine Smart fit prefolds from nickisdiapers.com. They have excellent reviews all over the different CD boards, and a lot of people seem to prefer them over the GMD due to them being softer. I am going to order 2 dz xsmall and 2 dz small, a fuzzibunz hanging diaper bag, and 2 snappis for just $4 more than it would of cost me to get 2 dz orange GMD and 1 dz yellow GMD only.
