Emily, I did nto get a chance to respond to your post yesterday about your dog but, I wanted to tell you I'm so sorry.

April 2nd made 3 years since we had my childhood dog (got her when I was 12) put tp sleep. Isabel was only 6 months old so I can't really help with what to tell E.

For us (my mom and -she lived with my mom and we live close) we took Maggie to the vet on a Monday and made the appointment to come back on Thursday to have her put to sleep (my mom was not ready to do it right then). For us, making the appt so many days away turned out to be a bad idea, we wish we had made it for the following day, waiting so many days was awful and we felt guilty. So my advice would be once you decide to have your dog put to sleep make the appt for the next day and spend the day spoiling your sweet dog.

The one thing my mom and I both did was make a stepping stone with Maggie's paw print and we both love having them.

Anyway, I just wanted to say I'm sorry your doggie is so sick and you have to be faced with this. It's amazing how much those sweet animals get into your heart. (((HUGS)))
