My face is freaking out, help!

I'm breaking out all over my face and neck.  I look like an 8th grader with grey hairs and wrinkles. Please recommend your favorite skincare products and concealers. I need help.

I currently use cetaphil cleanser morning and night and no makeup and I drink 64 oz water/day.

  • I don't have any advice but I sympathize. I have two extremely painful zits on my chin that are really deep under the skin. They have been there for like 3 weeks and just won't go away. I might as the ob next week if I can/should go to the derm since I'm wondering now if they are cysts. Lovely!

  • Mine was getting pretty bad too so I bought some facial cleansing wipes to keep at work.  They work great for a mid-day freshen up.  My face seems to have cleared up for the most part now.

  • I use Aveno calming cleanser which works pretty well.  I also just switched rica tinted mositurizer vs regular foundation because whike my skin is breaking out and super oily I also started getting dry patches. WTH?!  So I'm hoping that it will start to clear up.  I'm mostly breaking out along my jaw line with a few on my forehead, I've never had perfectly clear skin though.  There's always been at least one small zit since 8th grade.

  • Neutrogena Naturals has some great products.  I highly recommend.

I've suffered from these quite often in the recent past. Luckily, none since I got pg. But the most recent one lasted FAR too long for my taste and I started researching it online and learned that the best thing to do is actually to go to the dr. I'd recommend it.

OP, I use the Neutrogena Face Bar. It's a buck and it works, at least for me. I also follow up with an oil-free SPF face moisturizer because I feel that the bar sort of dries out my face. But, my second recommendation would be the Cetaphil. I'd talk to your dr. My sister never breaks out, but during her pregnancy she had terrible acne no matter what she tried. I'm not trying to scare you-- I really hope that doesn't happen to any of you! But if you're regularly washing your face with a great cleanser, drinking lots of water, and still breaking out, my next step would be to just ask a physician.

  • The only facial cleanser I found that helped my acne in my 30s, prior to pregnancy, is Purity by Philosophy; you can find it at Sephora.  Of course, it's a little more expensive than cleansers you can buy at WalMart or Target, but well worth it.  I also use Oil of Olay moisterizer, or Target, Walgreens or Walmart's comparable brand.   I've been lucky not to have any skin issues with the pregnancy yet, and I'm hoping the cleanser and moisterizer will keep it that way.  Best of luck!
