Out of Office Assistant question

Examples of what you put for your, "Out of the Office Assistant ." I really do not want to put a date of when I am returning. Examples anyone.....

  • You really should.... as well as put a specific person to contact during your absence.  Have you asked your boss/supervisor?

    I did, and she was no help. She just suggested I do one for courtesy.

  • Just something like.....I am out of the office without a set date of return. Please contact X at xyz email or phone # in my absence. Sorry for any inconvenience. Thank you........you can probably Google examples but something along the lines of this.

  • I just put the month. It says something like I am currently out of the office returning June 2012. And who to contact in my absence. I may update with a specific date once I get one.

  • You could always say "anticipated return date of ..." so that people can get an idea of when you'll return without you being held to it.

    I am out of the office on maternity leave until the end of July.  Should you have any questions about X, Y, or the Z, please contact Jane Smith at thisemailaddress.

  • Mine says I am currently out on maternity leave and expect to return in August 2012, and then gives the contact info for my back-up.

    I will direct them where to send their emails/questions/concerns/etc.

    I am not putting when I will return...not anyones business.  I got them covered by telling them who to see in my absence.

  • Mine says I am out of the office on maternity leave beginning April 2, if you need assistance please contact so and so. I figured if people see maternity leave they know it will be a couple months at least. I don't know what my return date will be.

    I haven't had to set mine yet, but it will be along these lines.  Show when I started my leave, and put my contacts for each of my projects.  My backups will know my target return dates, so they can answer any questions on that if needed.  I figure if I'm off that many weeks, they're not really going to care when I'm coming back b/c they'll need something more immediate.

     I will also say something along the lines of "without access to email", b/c for some reason my crazy coworkers/peers seem to think I'll be checking email.  I have to use my vacation days, so I will not be checking Big Smile.
