since the babies may be coming sooner than later...and each appnt could be go time...i guess i should be ready huh?
for now all i have been bringing is my contact case, glasses and a hair clip...LOL
i only live 15 min from the hospital and will have people to go get me some stuff...so i am thinking comfy sweatpants/tshirt/sweatshirt?! toiletries....?
and what else? i did this with my DD and it was such a blur!
Re: what do i REALLY need i the hospital bag?
toiletries and comfy clothes i'd say, although the hospital gown and underwear are easier at first..maybe slippers or extra socks. also i dont know if it's just me..but i thought going home i could at least wear one of my own tshirts, but it still looked really weird over my belly and i had to wear a shirt of my husbands..so maybe a bigger shirt
- Nursing bras (I had cheapo ones from Wal-Mart that I still sleep in)
- Shower items (they only provided soap, and it felt SO good to wash my hair)
- Comfy clothes (I wore maternity yoga pants and a maternity tank - I felt better getting dressed)
- Snacks for my mom and DH while I was in labor
- CAMERA!!!
- cell phone chargers
- copy of insurance card/drivers license and all doctors information (pediatrician, OBGYN, etc.)
- hard candy to suck on which i used a lot during labor the first time.
- any special baby blanket(s) for pictures or going home outfits (certainly can be brought later by family but anything can, I just didn't leave it to chance)
If you are planning to breastfeed, bring a twin nursing pillow!!
It makes the early days of nursing so much easier. It was seriously the best thing I brought.
Plus, you can put both of the babies on it even when they are not nursing and you can just stare at them in amazement!
Camera/video camera and their cords... make sure batteries are fully charged.
Comfy clothes
Coming home outfits
We brought a laptop b/c we don't have smartphones/tablet
DH brought his own pillow and blanket.
We brought the girls blankets someone had made for them.
Razor/contacts/solution/glasses/shampoo/conditioner/shower shoes/toothpaste/toothbrush/face wash/ makeup/ hairdryer (for pictures)
Camera, video camera, cell, computer, all chargers and I found an eight foot extension cord helpful to keep my computer charged when I was using it in bed.
Yoga pants and t-shirts were great. You'll be going back and forth to the nursery if they are in the NICU.
I did bring hair stuff and all my make up, too.
I liked having a pen and notebook to keep notes on as well.
Take your own pillow and bath towel(s). Both are so small at the hospital.
