I am trying to wean LO off of pumped bm and onto formula. I started mixing thinking that would make a smooth transition. I started with Enfamil Newborn and it was fine for a few days and then went to hell. She got really gassy and was fussy for the entire day on Monday. We then switched her to Enfamil for gas and fussiness. She is doing a little better, but is definitely uncomfortable after eating still (with gas drops). So here are my questions:
1. Is it possible that mixing the bm and f is making the gas worse?
2. Do you have a rec for a formula that helped with gas?
3. Am I not giving the formula enough time? Should I be sticking it out longer than a few days?
My husband had a rec of Nature's Best All Organic but I have never heard of it. TIA!
Re: Need advice about formula!!!
we use similac, but when i talked to the feeding hotline thing they offer i was told it can take up to 2 weeks to adjust
1. Yes, this is very possible. When I switched Aria, mixing the two made her a little gas ball. Id suggest giving them seperately.
2. We started with Enfamil newborn bc of the samples we had. Her gas was awful with it. We switched to Similac sensitive (again, bc we had samples) and it cleared her right up. (she still gets gas from time to time, but nothing abnormal)
3. Yes. Give it a week or two.

We just started using Earth's Best (powder). Before that we used Similac newborn (the blue label, premade, not powder) bc we had samples from pedi. I didnt notice a difference in grassiness--- he's equally as gassy on Earth's Best!
In my research, I decided against Nature's One bc of reports of arsenic and it's a toddler formula, not meant for infants.
I would check out their website. That claim was a baseless claim on Dr.Oz who loves to frighten people and bring other "experts" on that don't have qualified research. They also explain why they use the language Toddler even though it's also a infant formula
