Exercise after C-Section

Hello All!  I had a c-section almost 3 weeks ago.  I still have about 3 more weeks to go till I have the a-o-k to possibly get back to the gym.  There is the small chance apparently that I will have to wait a little bit longer.  I was just wondering if anyone who has had a c/s knows of any exercises I can do before then that wont be too evasive.  While pregnant, I couldnt eat a lot of junk food or sweets, and I walked a lot, stayed in pretty good shape, for a pregnant lady!  But I feel like since being home from the hospital, I have eaten not-so-great when I do finally have time to eat, and I cant seem to shake any of my pregnancy weight and I am dying to!  Any suggestions would help!!

  • Same- Just walking all the time... I'm so ready to get in the gym and get back to PP weight!!

  • I was the same as you. I had gd so I hate not horrible but not so great when I camehome from the hospital. So the hospital sent me home with light excercise's to do at home. Cam.e with discharge instruction's

    Leg lifts just started at 10 reps each leg and built up from there.(these would be standing)

    Not sure what it was called but on hands and knees and you push back with each leg.

    laying on my side leg lifts.

    laying on my back lifting both legs up at the same time.

    plank.

    I started of little(per instrucitons) and just worked my way back up it too me about three months but I had other issues. Congrat's on your little one!

  • I walked a lot and at my 2wk pp appt my doctor okayed light arm weights. Just not hard cardio work or ab work

  • Walking, leg lifts, calf raises, biceps curls, etc. should be fine.
