How is everyone doing?
Wow we've been so busy, I haven't had time to check in as much as I would like lately. I like to see hi and offer support to all you new preemie moms. Prayers for any new preemie moms and your little kiddos!!!!
We're doing relatively well. Andrew continues to mature every day and is learning a lot in school, which he still likes. He goes back to the developmental pedi soon. I have no.clue. what to expect. I'm not sure if we're looking at a formal diagnosis, or if he's going to be really impressed with his progress. Our biggest challenge continues to be social situations, like Easter, poor Andrew is so uncomfortable he just closes his eyes and "disappears". Otherwise he's just a happy kid. He asks a lot about his brother now.
Elliott is doing well! He's still a bit behind and not really catching up, so we've started PT (really weak core) and OT (feeding/fine motor) for him now. Sigh. Please pray he catches up quickly because this Mommy is spread really thin. Overall he is doing quite well and I am so thankful for his health. He's been quite sick all winter but handles it like a little champ.
He is crawling now and chases Andrew everywhere...Andrew doesn't mind it but he very much doesn't like elliott crawling up ON him. Partly b/c Andrew is funny about personal space and being touched (due to autism etc) but also because Elliott is 20ish lbs and Andrew is 29 lbs and so Elliott knocks him over, HAHA!
That's about it for now!
Re: checking in!
Prayers for a quick catch up for Elliot and a good report at the development appointment for Andrew! It sounds like you have your hands full to say the least. I hope things continue to improve every day:)!
My little one, William, is 10 months old today, which is hard to believe! My birthday is Wednesday, and it's seems so long ago that I celebrated my last birthday pregnant with him and planning his nursery etc.
Let us know how Andrew's appt goes!
Thank you!! Time flies. Doesn't it feel like yesterday that our boys were just born?!
Please post an updated picture if you have one! I'd love to see some new pics!
aww, they sound like such cute boys, I bet your family has so much fun together.
I wanted to add about the social situations, Sophie still has problems being in the same room/looking at adult males, even family members with the exception of her Grandpa's. (I saw your post on the SN board). She gets called out on it too, and I don't know how to make her feel comfortable.
Thanks guys!!
Dawn I will be in touch!
