6 week check-up

Sorry girls, I haven't been on a lot lately.  I am still around though and I am trying to get on more often to read posts/post.  Anyway... I have a concern.  My 6 week check-up is next Friday.  I should have the green light to have sex again.  I have the desire to have sex but I am nervous that things won't feel the same for me, or even worse, that things won't feel as good for him! I am also a little afraid that the first time could be uncomfortable or even painful. Comments? Advice?

Re: 6 week check-up

  • I just did it for the first time yesterday. It will feel good for your husband. It may not be exactly the same but he will enjoy it. For me, it was painful at first. We took it slow and found a position that worked. I found reverse cowgirl to be the best because I could control speed, etc and it didn't rub on anything that was too painful. It was however, still uncomfortable. Today I am also still sore, especially my perennial area (I had an episiotomy). From what I understand it will be uncomfortable/painful the first couple times. My advice, have some wine, go slow, use lube and enjoy the emotional intimacy that goes with sex. Also, try to relax

  • It takes a while...  but use lube, go slow, and know that over time it gets better.

  • After we had DD1 we waited 6 weeks. DH said it didn't feel any different. It was pretty uncomfortable for me the first few times. It does get better though. I am hoping I bounce back quicker this time. I feel much less damaged this time.

  • Warning TMI - DH likes it cuz not using it made it tighter :)  I agree with PP, use lube and go slow - foreplay is always good.  Make sure to tell him beforehand that he has to be gentle and that you get to dictate everything.  I am still a little sore from my stiches so certain positions don't work for me yet.

  • with DD1, it was painful and unpleasant for months. i think it was about 3-4 mo until i actually enjoyed it.  this time, although a little uncomfortable, i think it's better than before!  just goes to show you that everyone, every pregnancy is different.  for the first i think all the c/s issues caused me so much pain and depression that impacted our intimacy, and i had very little desire.  so i think having the desire goes a long way!  just go slow and lube up!  i didn't have an episiotomy but i did tear this time, not sure how much that would impact things
  • Had mt PP check-up Tuesday. :) Got the all-clear and thing got goin' that night! It was fine, although Astroglide was certainly my friend! H had no complaints, but I'm sure it was also tighter from healing. Just make sure to go slow and tell YH beforehand that uf it doesn't feel right, he needs to back off and gve you more time.:)
