Babies: 6 - 9 Months

crawling/walking hands back to standing?

DS started crawling at exactly 7 months.  About a week later he started to walk his hands back and stand up.  Now, at 8 months tomorrow he is consistently standing up and plopping back down on his bottom.  He also pushes himself to sitting and pulls up and cruises but I have never seen a baby stand up before they were consistently walking.  Just out of curiosity, anyone else's LO doing this?

  • DD started crawling exactly 6 months. A week later pulling up. Now she is a week shy of 8 months and she is walking along furniture and even stands up in the middle of the living room not hanging in to anything. Our kids are just advanced. ;)

  • DS started taking steps last week. He'll stand up on his own (without using anything to pull himself up), take a few steps, fall down, rinse and repeat, haha. I blame it on him trying to keep up with his older siblings :P

Haha, I guess my post did sound "braggy" about what he can do...toot toot (DSs horn!)  I promise that's not what I meant, but of course I am proud!  I am really just curious because I don't remember seeing other kids do this.  DH and I crack up at him because he looks so silly.  However, he's spitfire so I feel like his recent "party tricks" cut us a little slack for him being a pretty fussy tiny baby-I think he was mad he couldn't GO!

I was thinking the standing might lead to a few steps soon...I think DS is trying to keep up with the dog!
