Need help with ideas of what to get a 5 yr old boy for his birthday.

    Ditto the lego recomindation, or Star Wars, or those spin tops that "fight" sorry I can't remember the name of them.

    Lego is a great idea.

    If he doesn't have a scooter - Toys R Us had one on sale for $20.  All the kids in our neighborhood ride them all the time (the 2 wheeled kind).

    I recommend asking what he's into.  The 5th birthday parties we've been to have varied widely in terms of interests.  Some kids are crazy into Transformers, others are nuts for Star Wars.  

    One of the biggest hits from my 4 yr old's birthday that my 5 yr old played with non-stop was one of those huge cardboard things you build and then they get to color all over them.  It was an eye sore but they spent hours in the one we got (off to find pics and link)

     Target carries them in store too for $20 in their crafts section.

    It's HUGE so the kids get really excited about opening it.

     

    Our IF journey: 1 m/c, 1 IVF with only 3 eggs retrieved yielding Dylan and a lost twin, 1 shocker unmedicated BFP resulting in Jace, 3 more unmedicated pregnancies ending in more losses.
    Total score: 6 pregnancies, 5 losses, 2 amazing blessings that I'm thankful for every single day.

    I have five nephews that are very different in terms of interest, but all of them love lego sets.  :)

    The Playskool Rescue Bot Transformers are HUGE with my boys and their friends right now! DS1 is 4.5.........

    -Legos

    -Anything Super Hero (Superman, Batman, etc)

    -Capes/Super Hero dress-up stuff

    -If he is into sports, you could do a tee-ball set or a soccer ball/small soccer net
