how long after pumping do you feed?

I'm starting to build up my supply.   I feed DD in the morning (she'll empty one side and barely nibble on the other).  I try to pump after that but it usually takes an hour before I can set up because I have to get her situated and calm for a nap before I can pump.  Sometimes it seems like it's too early to feed after I've just finished pumping an hour or so before.  How long do you typically wait?  THX!

    I pump both sides for at least 30 mins after our morning feeds, and sometimes on the weekend DD will want to eat again soon(ish.)  She still gets milk.  you're never really "empty."  If there's an hour in between pumping and feeding, (at least for me) that is plenty.

    I feed on demand and have read (on the Medela website) that you can nurse right away after you pump if LO is hungry... And we've actually had to do this a couple times.  You are never completely out of milk, so it will take LO longer to feet until satisfation, but you can still nurse right away.  I just make sure I'm massaging my breasts alot while she's eating right after pumping, and switch sides often.  Since you just pumped your millk will be good and fatty, so you don't have to worry about LO getting to much foremilk.
