Random Question of the Day

We need to get this board moving ladies!  How am I to pass the time on a slow day at work?

Here's the question:  What is the "silliest" thing you're scared of when it comes to pregnancy?  What about labor/delivery?

Rules:  miscarriage is not allowed, it's not a silly fear.  Silly includes all superficial and just plain weird changes and occurances during prefnancy such as your vagina during as purple as Barney (yes that can happen, it happened to a friend of mine).

Re: Random Question of the Day

  • Pregnancy:  I'm scared my boobs won't get big again.  I've always had small boobs and I loved having larder ones last time.  This time they haven't grown at all yet!

Labor/Delivery:  I really don't want to sh!t while pushing.  I know it will most likely happen, but really?! Why must it?! I don't wanna!

I am scared of sneezing and peeing, I know there is a term for that.  It already happens but I'm not looking forward to the bigger gushes.

  • Yeah, pooping on the table is my big one. I know I didn't last time - I asked DH (who was watching the whole thing). I did pee all over the doctor's hands haha, but for some reason that didn't bother me.

Also I'm worried about getting pregnancy fat face again this time. I can't even look of pictures of me from the end of my last pregnancy because I was so swollen it was disgusting. It was mostly from PIH, but I'm still worried about looking that way again this time. It was not pretty.

Other than that I don't think I have any silly fears. Since this isn't my first I feel like I know enough what to expect not to worry about all the stuff I worried about last time.

  • This is my second as well but I had a csection last time and didn't experience labor and delivery so those fears are the same.  I just figured there's been so many posts about the real scary fears that maybe we could focus on the silly ones for a bit to lightening things up.

  • LOL, I am scared that my feet will grow and stay bigger. I've heard that happens sometimes and then the feet don't go back to their normal size afterwards!

This didn't happen to me but it did happen to another froend of mine.  Her feet grew almost a full size.  She had to buy all new shoes after she gave birth!

Also you just reminded me that last time my feet got super sweaty an stinky about hal way through.  I hope that doesn't happen again because it was awful and embarrassing!

  • The bathroom thing seems to be a common fear, and it is definitely mine!  I think I will be mortified if I go to the bathroom when pushing, but I know it happens all the time...still, I just can't accept that!

  • My fears are gaining a ton of weight and the bloating--I've already got a round face and when I gain weight I get double chins and "fat face" SO easily.  And with as bloated as I already am, I'm not looking forward to seeing what a balloon I'll be by the end!

  • Not really silly but I'm so afraid of tearing again. I had 2nd degree tears and had stitches. Peeing after delivery sucked.

Also I got sorta furry, my back had a peach fuzz to it and so did my tummy, I was so embarrassed about it when I was getting the Epi. Ha ha

I also don't want to pee or poop on anyone of course.

  • Pregnancy fear:  Not showing, ever. I'm fat, and I'm afraid my belly will never look round and cute.

Labor/Delivery: I'm afraid I'll be mean to my husband! Lol. I keep promising I won't but I'm scared the pain will make me ugly!

This. My mom's grew a size, and I'm worried it's genetic. With DD they were swollen and my shoes were really tight. I don't know what would have happened if I had been able to carry her to term. I mean, I'll take bigger feet over a preemie, but still...

Also, with DD sometime around the beginning of 3rd tri, every time I would pee only a trickle would come out. Then I would wipe, stand up, walk 2 steps, and more would come out. Sometimes only a little more, sometimes a bit more than a little... It was really embarrassing, and it didn't even help if I sat on the pot for like 10 minutes trying to get it all out. I would be very grateful if that would not happen this pregnancy, but I have a feeling there's no getting around it.
