I've posted a couple of times for advice from you guys about his issues. His doctor has now ruled out (with the help of specialists) his lungs, gallbladder, pancreas, heart attack, and any acid reflux/ulcer/digestive issues. His family doctor doesn't believe it to be anxiety because the pain wakes him from a dead sleep and is sometimes accompanied by a fever.
(Back story: This has been happening for the last 3 years, maybe more...but we don't remember for sure when it officially started. He will wake with excruciating chest pain that makes it impossible to take anything but shallow breaths. It's accompanied usually by a fever and because of the shallow breaths he has numbness in his hands and feet.)
The "attacks" used to come pretty randomly...so it was hard to think back to what was similar each time. He had an attack 12/20, 3/2 and again Friday 4/6. So they're becoming more frequent and it's taking him 2-4 days to recover from it where it used to only take a day at the most. He is really freaked out and worried about it...and he doesn't get worried about much.
His family doc referred us to a cardiologist because they've ruled out pretty much everything in his abdomen...so they're moving up now since it's chest pain the heart is the most logical place to start. His appointment is 4/23. We're both really worried. He's scared to death honestly...this last time really freaked him out.
I'm not sure what the point of this post is, other than to get it out. So thanks for listening...and thoughts and prayers are welcome. :-)

I have that happen occasionally too, but there's no rhyme or reason for mine either. I usually get it during the day though. Not so much at night. It hurts in my heart/ribs area so that I can't take a deep breath at all and even the small ones hurt until it subsides. I have mitral valve prolapse, but my cardiologist isn't sure it's related. They're kind of stumped as well. Their best guess is that either it's my heart valve on the fritz or I'm getting bubbles between my lung lining and ribs. None of this is helpful to you but I do know what he's feeling. It hurts!
I remember having something like that happen to me when I was in high school. To me it felt like someone was stabbing me in the chest and it really hurt to breathe. I never went to the doctor and it didn't happen very often.
I hope your DH's doctors can figure this out so you and your DH can feel better. Hopefully there's an easy solution.
Unexplained Infertility
After two Clomid cycles, three injectable IUI cycles, two IVFs, two miscarriages, and one lap surgery, IVF #2 has brought us our little boy!
TTC #2
After months of being postponed or cancelled, FET #1.3 (Natural FET) brought us twin girls!
This sounds like Angina - a heart condition that can be controlled with medication. The cardiologist should be able to diagnose it.
Good luck and I hope he feels better!
Our Thanksgiving Day baby 11/22/07
Pregnant with #2 with LPD, uterine polyp/hysteroscopy, DOR (AMH = 0.17), 2 c/ps
Our early Christmas present 12/9/10
I'm sure it's scary for all of you. Sending T & P's.
I'm curious - have they ruled out any sort of infection, bacerial or viral?
IUI- BFN IVF #1 -BFP! Allie is our 2nd IVF baby. Born at 36 1/2 weeks after pre-e again
Wow, that is scary. I hope you guys get some answers from the cardiologist and that it's nothing serious. Hugs.
His family doc has taken tons of blood and I think at last check his white blood cell count was within the normal range. Two summers ago he had pneumonia (or what they thought was pneumonia) and this has been more frequent since...but his WBC count is normal.
I know! I'm like "Where's Dr. House when we need him?!" haha.

Have they checked for scarcodosis? I am sure they spelled it wrong but it sound similar to that. My dad has that, and it can go into remission on it's own, but when it is in "full swing" it is horrible.
It can cause breathing issues, shortness of breath, heart palps, rosy face, and some caughing. They thought it was all kinds of things at first, like allergies and lung cancer, etc. He ended up at mayo clinic and they ruled out everything and confirmed that.
I hope you get your diagnosis soon and DH starts to feel better. It is so horrible.
