I'm digging Biological Nursing!

I ignored this position at first because it seemed kind of strange, but I gave it a whirl last night and I love it! It's also called "laid back position" - basically you're reclined and baby is tummy-to-tummy with you. They find the latch on their own and the position makes a nice wide latch much easier. That's been true for us - my nips feel much better. And I'm much more comfortable! Just thought I'd share for the nursing moms who are still trying out different positions. Dr. Google has some good pages on it if you're interested.

The book Breastfeeding Made Simple lauds this as the easiest position for a wee bitty newborn to learn to BF in and as the baby grows and gets stronger to use other positions if you're so inclined. I plan to use it.

I should try that - I've been latching in cradle, then leaning way back since I have OALD and the poor kid half drowns every session. I used to unlatch DD and do the spray into a towel thing, but this kid really struggles against being unlatched and has taken some skin off.

My LC showed me this last night...I'm scared of hands free nursing and never did it with #1 but once my tailbone stops hurting illnhave to try.

I really liked this position with DD1. It was comfy for both of us.

It is also a good position if you have overactive letdown since you dont have all the gravity making the milk spray harder.

I need to try this for this very reason. LO gets shot all in the face and my clothes end up drenched >.>

I got some information about this a couple of months ago, and I'm really excited to try it out. I always used cross cradle with DD1, but I'm ready to get more adventurous this time!
