vaginal pain/pressure

i know a smiliar post was put up earlier, but my question is a little different. all day today when walking and now also with sitting, i feel like my vagina is extremely swollen. it's not painful, but more like a lot of pressure as if i need to keep my legs closed b/c it feels like LO is going to fall out. i'm not having painful/burning urination or any blood or any other discharge. does it seem normal? i'm a FTM and any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

Re: vaginal pain/pressure

  • I am having severe vaginal pain right by my vaginal opening. I saw my OB today and she told me to get a prenatal cradle (similar to a jockstrap - but for a female) to help. She said that because that area is so swollen/blood ridden that it can cause pain. My prenatal cradle plus will be here Friday. I'm hoping it helps! It hurts like hell to walk.

  • I'm having the same thing. Some days are worse than others. I don't have any other symptoms of anything either. I asked my midwife and she said it's very normal.

  • I've had a similar pain this time around - feels almost like when you press hard on a bruised area...except in my vagina area...whenever I move. NOT fun, but I do go to my chiropractor once a week now and he does a pubic adjustment that puts the pubic bone into place (continuously moves as baby adjusts around inside) and with one little pop it relieves much of the discomfort.  You may try visiting a chiropractor and asking them about that adjustment - nothing weird, you just lie on your back with legs bent and he pushes your legs out while you resist by trying to keep legs in/together.

All in all though, countdown is ON until baby arrives, sleep deprivation begins and my body can begin to heal and go back to a new normal :)

I got one for swelling and it seems to be helping a lot.

I also got a MamaSpanx shaper for wearing under sleeker clothing.  It helps with swelling, but it makes me very hot.

I am also doing Kegels more regularly.

This is definitely my least favorite thing about my pregnancy so far!
