DH has a cold, What happens if I go into labor?

Will they still let DH be there when I deliver or will he be kicked out of the hospital? He has a cold, soar throat and stuffy nose. I have Dr. appt tomorrow and I will ask I just wanted tto know what your experience is with this.

    Well, I have a cold right now, and they are gonna have to let me be there. I could see them asking him to put on a mask. When DD was born, MIL was sick, and she put on a mask when she visited.

    DH was sick the day LO was born with a sore throat. He has had a runny nose since then. He just doesnt kiss her face or get too close. He can't wait to be feeling better so he can help out more. I don't think they will kick him out, our doc didn't seem to think it was a big deal.

    Lurking from May board :)

    My husband had a cold when my DD was born. When I went into labor, it was 2am-ish and I let him keep sleeping because I knew he felt horrible. Finally I had to SHAKE him (he doesn't wake up easily) and tell him "THIS IS SERIOUS-GET OUT OF BED!" :) 

    But at the hospital, nobody ever said anything to us about his cold. He wasn't sneezing or coughing though. Probably depends on the hospital/policies.
