XP: Day 5 PGS biopsy update

I just got some news on my embies. Of the 15 that fertilized, 5 were able to be biopsied today (day 5) and they expect a few more tomorrow. Fx we get around 8 that can get to PGS.

This means that 5 got to blast so they could be biopsied - so that is good. My only concern is that the numbers drop so much at each step, and I need numbers on my side to at least get 1-3 that pass PGS this time, as there is always a risk that we could lose some at thaw for the FET.

I hate the IVF numbers game. I would love all your T&Ps for my little embies to help a good number to get through to tomorrow.

I am crossing fingers and toes!!!

Multiple ectopics, 2 failed IVF's
IVF #1: Did not get to ET, embies all failed PGD (major chromosomal defects)
IVF #2: We have 2 chromosomally perfect embies as a result of PGD (Boy/Girl) 1 failed the thaw (Girl) Transferred 1, yet ended as a c/p
Thought it was the end of our TTC Journey 6/20/2012
SHOCK BFP 9/28/2012: IT'S A BOY! and everything is normal !!!!!!

Little A born 38w 2d on 05/23/13 and is a true miracle for this IF Vet!

    Hi! I have been following your story a lot because I am about to do the same process in a couple of months! It is so scary! It sounds like things are going pretty well for you at this point, but the numbers game part of all of this sucks so much!! Last IVF for me we had 5 go to blast so I am hoping for maybe a few more this time for the same reasons.

    I have everything crossed for you that this is going to work!

    How soon after the biopsy do you get the results??

    Dx: DH - Azoo, Me - Mild PCOS
    DH - sperm found! Seems to produce only for a few days every 70 days!
    Over 1 million in cryo in 15 vials over 6 samples
    IVF #1 - 1 beautiful expanded blast transferred, 4 snowbabies - beta #1 11/30/11 = BFFN
    FET #1, transfered 2 embies 2/16/12 = BFFN; 1 snowbaby left in cryo
    IVF #2 + CGH = 4 genetically normal embies on ice. FET September 26th
    SAIF/PAIF always welcome

    It's been a long journey. TTC since 9/06. multiple IUI's and IVF's and 4 m/c's. IVF#3 = BFP, twins, induced at 34w6d due to baby b passing away (no explanation). Delivered on 35w1d, Baby A - baby girl, and Baby B - baby boy, our little angel.

    The nurse said today that there may be results in tomorrow midday for the ones done today but the RE said a week. Not sure what is right.

    my blasts were biopsied on a thursday and i had results on following monday or tuesday.

    That is what I thought. For IVF#1 the biopsy was done on day 3 (Sat) and back for day 5 ET (that never happened) so I think that I do need to wait a few more days.

    It is just going to me a long, long week....... I am terrified for a repeat of last time. I dread it so much.

    You have all my thoughts and a huge (((hug))). This wait sucks and I know what you mean about seeing the numbers go down at each stage, it's so hard to remember that it's completely normal for it to go that way. If it helps, we only had 4 to biopsy total on my successful cycle. I predict great things for you and keep us posted!
