is your LO walking yet?

for some reason, my DH is OBSESSED with the fact our 11 month of daughter is not walking.  Anytime we are out and he see a young toddler walking, he is thinks that they are the same size as our daughter, which of course = the same age and becomes very concerned our daughter isn't walking.  Keep in mind, she's crawls like crazy, climbs up any set of stairs that around, cruises around the furniture like it's nobody's business and loves two hold onto other people's hands and walk around.  She just hasn't tried to go it alone yet.  I know she's not abnormal.  I'm just looking for someone else to have an 11 month old or older who is also not walking. Please share so that I can show him and reassure him that she's just fine!

    my daughter is walking but prefers crawling; however your DH needs to calm down. Most babies do not walk until 12 + months...anywhere from 12 - 15 months is considered "norma"/ it sounds like your LO is plenty active, he needs to relax.

    She had her first birthday this week, and she isn't walking. There isn't usually a concern unless they get to 18 months without walking. Seeing as how our kiddos are doing everything else (cruising, climbing etc..) there is nothing to worry about!

    Our little guy is 11 months and he is doing everything else BUT walking..yet...lol I have to remind myself that once he is walking I might not be getting any "breaks" at all!  lol  I agree with the other posts that there is nothing to worry about at this point.  :)

    Aww, tell him to relax.  My Dad is obsessed with DD walking.  she doesn't roll onto her belly or get up on her knees or crawl.  She's not even close to walking.  She will pull up to standing if I'm holding her hands and will take a few steps while someone holds her hands.

    I walked at 1 year and am an only child she he has no reference point.  DD has really bad reflux so she doesn't roll or really like being on her belly so walking will come next or be delayed, lol.

    11 months and nope, not walking yet. It doesn't look like it's right around the corner either. I'm not worried at all.

    She'll be 11 months on Saturday and I can pretty much guarantee she will not be walking by that point.  She crawls, pulls up, and is just barely starting to cruise.  She cannot climb steps (although we don't have any that she has access too.)

    It sounds like your LO is doing just fine!

    DD has been walking for about 3 weeks now, I wouldnt be concerned though I know some babies that have not walked until 15 months! Dont stress yourself.

    11 months plus a week and not walking. He's crawling and cruising. We aren't at all concerned.

    LO turns 1 in 10 days and literally started full on walking Friday. H was so crazy about the fact that he wasn't walking yet. Every baby is different, your LO just isn't ready to walk yet and will once she is ready.

    Andrew turned 1 two weeks ago and still isn't walking. Honestly I'm in no hurry - I figure while he's still crawling I can head him off. Once he starts walking (and running) I'll be chasing him all over the place.

    Giselle just turned 1 over the weekend.  No walking yet, but she crawls like mad & cruises like it's her full time job.  I'm not concerned, she'll walk when she is good & ready.

    Little man turns one tomorrow. He cruises around on the furniture and will stand on his own for a while. I'm totally fine with it. Sounds like your LO is just fine.

    Yep. She's been walking for a week but she still prefers to crawl

    Yep, she started at 10 1/2 months.  But I do realize this is very early.  Most babies walk at around 12+ months from what I've read.

    D was an early walker at 10+ months, and I think the two big factors that got him moving early were 1) his small head (which I think puts him at an advantage for all of this early developmental stuff), and 2) playing with kids a little older than him.

    I wouldn't worry at all,... the more I relax the happier I am! Easier said than done though.

    My son started walking at 8 months and now he is running.  He was really early to start walking. He also crawled like a pro at 5 months.  I wish that my son would have waited a while to walk.  An 11 month old that isnt walking is perfectly normal.  The doctors dont really start to worry until about 18 months.
