Car seat ?

? From a first time mom. We are looking for car seats for DH's car, he will be doing daycare drop off one mile from home and would an inexpensive second set of seats. I was set on buying the cosco scenero but the weight limit is 40 lbs, is this going to a problem? Our other seats go to 65 lbs Thank you!!

    I wanted to get the Cosco Senera too but I can't find a single store that now carries it!  It makes me wonder if they're discontinuing it.  

    I bought the Evenflo Tribute for both grandmothers' cars from walmart.com for about $45.  It goes up to 40 lbs too.  It's cute, the padding isn't great but DD won't be in their cars much.  

    Kids can start using a booster seat at 40 lbs.  So when she outgrows this I'll be buying booster seats for their cars as well.  Kids are expensive!

    my Target has them in stock or you can order at walmart.com and ship to store for free. we have one in MH's car for DS and he's still under the weight limit by 3lbs at 3yrs old.  we are going to get him a 3 in 1 that becomes a booster and switch the Cosco back to RF for DD.

    A 40lb weight limit won't be a problem. Only in the past few years have weight limits increased past 40lbs. Our main seat has a 40lb weight limit, but it was one of the only ones that fit my car.

    We were going to get the scenera for DH's car but couldn't find it in a store. We wound up at BRU and came across the Evenflo Tribute. We went with the Tribute because it was cheap and would fit well on an airplane seat.

    FWIW, the consensus on the Internet seems to be that kids will outgrow their seat by height before weight.
