Cyst on Ovary?

Anyone been told their cyst looks large and they want to keep an eye on it? It looked so large on the ultrasound monitor! Just a little worried...

Re: Cyst on Ovary?

  • No, but I know it's very common to have cysts on your ovaries while pregnant.

At my ultrasound last week I asked the technician if she thought it was possible I have PCOS based on cysts on my ovaries and she said they don't diagnose PCOS while pregnant because ovaries commonly have cysts.  She did however say my cysts look suspicious.  I'm sure everything will be fine with your cyst.

  • I had a corpus lutem cyst...my OB said that was common and said mine was "collapsing."

  • I had a 30mm cyst on each ovary when I had my first ultrasound. The one on my RO disappeared by the time I was 8 weeks, the one on my LO is still there. My doc told me they are pretty common during pregnancy, and actually help the pregnancy by producing progesterone!

  • I had one during one of my early fertility testing ultrasounds and it just went away on its own--they usually do.  Generally a doctor will let you know if it's cause for concern.

  • Very common.  After my first loss, I had a bunch and one really big one, but they all went away on their own.  Don't be surprised if you have some pain on the side of the cyst though.

    ~*~*Everyone Welcome*~*~
  • I have 2 on each ovary right now.  I had been getting a little stabbing pain on my left side every so often which is what led the dr. to look in the first place. My RE said they were corpus luteum cysts, and then they sent me to the hospital for a better look and the u/s tech there said they were hemhorragic cysts but I feel like that isn't right, as I have had absolutely no bleeding or spotting. I've already had  few u/s because of my loss history, and so far the cysts haven't grown and that's all I can ask for. I go for another u/s tomorrow, and hopefully we'll see that they're shrinking.

  • Thanks Ladies for your thoughts... I have been having little cramps/minor pain on the side so hopefully its just from that. We have an u/s next week so hopefully it is getting smaller by then!
