so i will be 35 weeks tomorrow and i have been having crazy contractions that are between 15-20 minutes apart. i have had 2 children already so its not like i dont know what to expect cause i do. but i was talking to a friend of mine about whats going on and she said that if i feel the urge to poop then it means that the baby is pushing, trying to get out but cant cause my water hasnt broken yet. i had back labor with my son but ended up having a c-section. i had a scheduled c-section with my daughter so i didnt have to go into labor. im SUPER calm and kinda want to go take a nap with my kids. my friend says thats just the "calm before the storm" so to speak. i need to go to the hospital but i dont have a way there at the moment. any ideas?
Re: concerned...
I would call your doc because my doctor told me to contact the hospital labor line and i may have to come in if i started having contractions before 38 weeks at any interval but after the 38 week point if I started having them only to come into the hospital if i was having 2-5 min apart contractions.
I don't want to worry you this could be just be in my case because of a previous procedure i had that can cause me to dilate easier
i called my doctor and they want me to go into labor and delivery so they can hook me up to the machines. they said the urge to poop is initially the urge to push. i dont remember much from when i was in labor with my son cause it was over 4 years ago. the only problem is finding a way to the hospital. i dont drive and my boyfriend is at his uncles house with no car cause his mom has his car right now. im waiting for my dad to get home from work and ask him to take me.
Keep us posted. I was going to echo everyone else. My ob said any thing that is regular come in for, even if they'r e20 minutes or more apart.
GL, mama.
Good luck. If you feel the urge to push, you would know because the contractions would be very painful. If you were in that pain you would have called 911 to take you to the hospital.
Also, babies can be born inside the bag of water. So, your friend is wrong that it can't come out because your water has not broken.
However, pooping at the start of labor is causing your body to prepare since baby pushes down on bladder and rectum when it starts dropping.
