November 2012 Moms

can someone help me out.....

My cousin has a 9mm subchorionic hemorrhage and she is 10 weeks pregnant.

What if anything could she do for this?  Will it heal itself?  Anything that I could tell her to put her mind at ease.....they done an ultrasound on Friday and her cervix was closed and they also checked her hormone levels and on Friday night they were at 64,000 and Saturday night they were 78,000.

I appreciate any information or advise that anyone has.

  • I'm only 10 weeks right now, but already had to deal with a SCH. Basically what they told me to do for it was as much rest as possible, and not to pick anything up! Hard to do, but it was worth it for me. I actually had several and one went away and the others shrunk. The ob told me that if the SCH is larger than the placenta that's the only time it is a threat to the pregnancy. But rest and lots of water are about all you can do!

  • With my first daughter I was 11 weeks and had the same issue. I was put on bed rest for 7 days. When i went back after the 7th day it healed on it's own. Tell your cousin to stay positive things will work out.

  • I had the same issue with my son, my bleeding lasted weeks 10-12 and healed itself. It can be very scary! I stayed off my feet and avoided doing anything too strenuous, my hubby really took care of me cooking and cleaning which helped a lot!

  • I have on about the same size as the gestational sac. I was told I only have a 50% chance of a healthy pregnancy. They told me to not lift anything over 20lbs (which is basically impossible with my 2 yr old). No excersize, no sex, no bike riding, etc. Also to drink lots of water. I've heard most heal on their own. It's definitely scary though!
