Getting massages is not the same these days. Maybe it's just me because I like deep tissue (HARD pressure) and everyone seems terrified to do more than gently rub. I've had 3 full body massages recently, 2 were ok and one was pretty terrible. Yesterday I paid to have my legs rubbed for 30 minutes and the guy refused to do more than gentle swedish even after I told him my legs hurt like hell and I would really love it if he really dug in. And he told me his wife had a baby 3 weeks ago! I wanted to yell at him why he didn't he remember how much discomfort she was in at the end. Grrrr. I keep trying to explain that they are not going to put me into labor unless I'm ready to go anyway, but I guess it's just a liability issue.

Re: Massage frustrations
That does suck! I am going on Thursday for a prenatal massage and I am hoping they know what they are doing.

I guess it is POSSIBLE that they could put you into labor.. Go somewhere where they know what pressure points NOT to hit.

I went for a pre-natal massage last week trained in pre-natal supposed but i've tried a couple out and some were better then others. I have to say though I tried "cupping" chinese therapy to relieve the pressure on my lower back and it helped quite a bit. Nothing helps me more than keep up with my chiro who is trained to work with babies and prego women. I used to be in tears form back pain until I saw my chiro.
BEST THING EVER! Don't know how i survived this far but now at 35 weeks i don't know if any methods can help this discomfort.
