My boy is 5 weeks old. We feed on demand but it works out to be around 4 ounces of formula every three hours or so. His nickname is Piggy. If we didn't limit him, I swear he'd never stop eating. He's like a bottomless pit. He never spits up and never gets tummy aches but the way he eats, I'm worried I'm going to have a toddler sized three month old.
3 weeks old.. and he has no real pattern, he eats when he is hungry and sleeps for as long as he wants... breast and pumped boob juice mostly ..supplemented with formula when needed.. more so lately as his appetite is huge sometimes.
He can chug through anything from 3-5 oz in a sitting and eats anywhere between 2-5 hours. When he is on the boob it's the same... 5 minutes to 45 depending on how hungry he is and it's not unknown for him to have 2oz in a bottle and then still go crazy on the boob.
He is peeing up a storm, pooping not so much .. but def gaining weight.. so I'm not worried about numbers .. as long as he is happy and gaining weight, I'll take it.
I would have preferred not to use formula personally, but needs must and his wellbeing comes before my ego. I've struggled with production on and off since he was born, specially with the right boob and I think this boy is going to be an early teether.. he chews and rolls these nipples like it's a boiled sweet some days and my favorite phrase now is HOLY COW BELLS ...
I'm making serious efforts to up production just to keep up with him, let alone make enough excess to freeze... nothing makes it past the fridge with this boy. Whatever I can pump while he is asleep he eats when he wakes up
we just started with bottle feeding BM...and right now, DD takes 2ozs every 2.5-3 hours. i'm going to try to up to 2.5 ozs tonight and see if that helps her sleep longer. i am only able to pump 2ozs per session, so if she is taking more than that at each feeding, i'll probably have to supplement. oh well.

3 weeks today. She's been eating 3oz of formula every 3 hours, and goes one four hour stretch at night. This morning she took 3.5 oz at her last feeding, which was more in the 2.5 hour range. She's been out like a light since then and it's almost time for her next bottle!
My DD turned 5 weeks old yesterday. She is FF and eats 4-5.5 oz every 3 hours during the day and sleeps through the night (about 7 hours). She's a terrific eater and sleeper!!! Such the opposite from my DS who used to eat every 1-2 hours, spit up constantly, and never sleep. This time around I definitely feel blessed!

Wow, you are lucky! That's some awesome eating/sleeping habits!
DS is 5wks 3d old and eats 5oz every 3 hours (sometimes every 2.5 during the day). I got my first really long stretch last night which was 8 hours between feeds (9 p.m. - 4 a.m.). He is only eating formula.
He was on 3 oz. every 3 hrs. like clockwork, but hit a growth spurt and it really screwed up his system. Now he's 3-4.5 oz. every 3-4 hrs., but we've been having some weird 2 hr spurts and he usually gives us a 5 hour stretch once during the night.
Re: How much is your LO eating?
DS is five weeks old.
He eats 3 ounces every 2-3 hours (would think he would be eating more by now?).
His diet is 50/50, breast and formula at each feeding.
