With my DS I had an unplanned emergency c/s due to his cord being wrapped around his neck and pinched everytime I had a contraction causing his HR to shoot sky high.  Everything turned out great due to my amazing drs!!! That day of the c/s I woke up at 5am didnt eat and after a 7am dr appt with my MFM was sent to L&D for induction. My son was delivered at 10:30pm and I didnt get to even rest until around 4am (up for 23hrs straight) at which point I was woke every 2 hours to BF, I was too tired for more then a few visitors the 3 days I was in the hospital.  This time we will have a planned c/s and plan on resting the whole day before ect. so I will hopefully not be so exausted (side note: my c/s was great not much pain and was walking that next day loved it! so Im not worried about the c/s as much as the exaustion).  I am curious if anyone has had a planned c/s and felt great?  I'm hoping to be well rested and want to have lots of visitors this time, am I just dreaming??

Re: Visitors??? Emergency vs. Planned C/S
I was well-rested for my scheduled c-section but still extremely sleepy after, due mostly to the pain meds.
If I could go back and do anything differently, I would have insisted that visitors leave after a few minutes. I felt like it interfered with breastfeeding and recovery, and drove up my anxiety. Next go-round, it's DH, grandparents and siblings only, and nobody but DH gets to stay when I'm breastfeeding. Period.
I had an emergency one last time and this one is scheduled. Last time I felt like shiit and still let visitors beyond immediate family visit and I wish I didn't. Even though this one is planned I don't want more than immediate family the first day. The next day if I am feeling okay, I probably won't mind other visitors.
Like a PP mentioned, I really want to concentrate on BF'd and bonding with my baby which won't happen with a bunch of visitors.
With my first I had an ECS due to my daughters heart rate going up and we had family there the whole time n this was at 3a.m til 12pm which was a bit much for me b/c I didn't have anytime to myself with my husband and my daughter was in the NICU as well.
Since were having a RCS were going to let ppl come in the afternoon if i'm feeling well but most likely the next day so we can bond with the baby N I can BF as well without ppl asking me a million ?s N being N my face taking pics while I look horrible lol like last time.
BTW: I love visitors just not when i'm crazy sick and in pain
