Did you have any fun today? I know that for many of us, Easter was marked last year with a newborn in the family. What a contrast, huh?
Last year my LO was a few weeks old. It was my first real need to NIP (well, around family), and I was very nervous. Today we had such a blast with LO. I put puffs into the plastic eggs, and LO crawled around and had an "egg hunt." He was really stoked about finding those puffs, and cried every time he finished off one egg, and then was delighted that there another awaited him (a few feet away on the floor, although I also put a couple in his toy box, and on his activity table, etc).
What about you guys?
Re: Easter Fun Then/Now
Last year their baskets were just for show mainly with small things they needed (socks, pacis, etc.). They kind of laid there next to them like a couple of sacks of potatoes. Lol This year they were all about getting into their baskets as well as everyone else's. Their favorite items were an egg-shaped wand with lights inside that spin around when you press a button. Owen's face just lights up as soon as you start one of the wands up. It is so cute. We still added stuff that they needed (sunglasses, sun hat, beach wrap for our beach vacation next month) but they enjoyed the fun stuff as well. Both years we have stayed home. Last year it was because we had two newborns and this year it was because no one invited us over, which was fine with me. I'm glad that we're able to start creating our own family traditions rather than trying to make everyone else happy by going where they want.
Pic from last year
This year's pic is in my siggy. What a difference a year makes, huh?

What a cool Easter surprise for you!
She is a cutie!
Last year Ashlen was about 3ish weeks old, and we went to my parents for brunch but had to leave early when my in-laws called and said that all 10 of them came over to see the baby...unannounced. Not awesome.
This year, my husband and I got into a huge fight and he took Ashlen to the same *** inlaws, and I felt like a crappy mom when I saw her little Easter basket sitting on our kitchen table...without a little baby girl playing with it. I went to my parents and cried all day and drank mimosas. Also not awesome.
Next year we have already decided to boycott family.
