Anyone have a natural twin birth

I am having mono/di twins. I am hoping to do a natural birth. My doctor has already said that if baby A is head down and their not early that she would support me having a vaginal birth. I am happy that she is not going to push a c-section.

I guess I am just l looking for experiences with a natural twin birth.

My mother and grandmother both had med-free, vaginal identical twin births. I guess I can't offer advice since it wasn't me but they did it.

Not personal, but one of my friends is a twin and her mother had both of them naturally. They also didn't come early and they were big for twins (about 6lbs each), but their mom was able to deliver them just fine.

My mother had med free, vaginal, identical twin births 22 years ago, but just by the skin of her teeth. Threatened csection on May 2, we were born May 1. When I wasn't born still 20 minutes after my sister, even though my heartrate was fine and she was just pushing me down, they were threatening csection and she had all sorts of nurses putting their full body weight applying fundal presssure, forcing me out. My mom is lucky she didn't hemorrhage and die from those stupid doctors/nurses!

Both of the recent cases of twins I've known were C-secs. Both were told from the beginning they'd be allowed to push. One was never given the chance (her babies came early, so it was imperative that they come NOW) and the other mom was induced at 37 weeks and after 12 hours on pit, they offered her a C and she took it. Both of her babies were bigger than my 39 weeker! Almost 8lbs! No one in the area of those births supports NB at all though. ONE MW is really for it but without support, she cant do much, you know?

My midwife has attended deliveries of twins at homebirths. It used to be done all the time; I think it's sad that it's not done all the time anymore. Women are just automatically scheduled for major surgery when they become pregnant with twins. Anyway, I have a friend who delivered twins naturally, but only because she has really fast labors (she wanted a natural delivery, but it was a surrogacy, so she didn't get to make the decisions like that).

My OB is encouraging a VBAC for our twins. I had researched prior to getting pregnant the most VBAC encouraging docs in my area and was an established patient when we found out about our triplets. Then we lost one in the second tri and I became eligible again for vaginal birth. There are actually quite a few twin moms who delivered vaginally on the multiples board. All (I think) in a hospital and none without meds (I think) but more than you might expect. The key is to find a supportive provider. GL!

I'm planning on having a med-free delivery with these girls. I have a super supportive care provider (it's a 1 OB and 1 MW practice--they'll both be there for delivery-she takes vacation around her patients due dates...it's a small practice) and as long as A is head down, we're good to go.

I would post on the Multiples board with the subject line--Anyone deliver their twins med-free? and you'll find that several ladies did.

my HypnoBirthing students had twins at home on 4/1 (exactly 38 weeks, with two MWs, and a student MW). Here is the quick story as emailed to me by Dad: Baby A and Baby B [names removed for privacy] were born in a birth tub in our living room, surrounded by loving midwives and family. Baby A was born after about 20 hours of labor, during which her daddy was an amazing support. She was 6 lbs 15 oz. Mom just reached down and gently brought her up out of the water. Baby B made her appearance a short 11 minutes later after two pushes, while Mom held Baby A in her arms. Dad received Baby B and handed her to Mom, and both girls nursed together in the first hour. Baby B was 5lbs 11oz: smaller, but alert and healthy. Big Sister (almost 4) was present for parts of labor and the births, and was very supportive of her momma. She even reminded Mom to reach down and touch the baby's head during pushing! Future midwife perhaps? Grandma, Grandpa, and Aunt were also there to welcome them. Labor and pregnancy were a mix of challenging and wonderful, but we are overwhelmed by the blessings and pure joy of their birth. Everybody is healthy and doing very well, with TONS of love and support.

No personal experience. I have been following a channel on youtube where about a week ago the woman gave birth naturally to twins and one of them was breech, plus she didn't even tear. It's a really great video.

My sister had a natural birth with her twins. Baby A was head down and came no problem. Baby B lined himself up immediately and came head down 8 minutes later. Both were 5-6 lbs and perfect! She said it was no problem. I guess it depends on how the babies are positioned.

A youtube friend of mine just delivered twins boys naturally about 10 days ago. One was 6lb 9oz, the other was 5lb, 11oz, and baby #2 was delivered breech. She didn't even tear, and credits this to not having anepidural and being able to feel and regulate her pushing (second time in labor, she has a daughter who is almost 2). Her labor and deliery video is on youtube. Go to GabeandJess channel and watch it, it's so awesome and inspirational. She's kickass. If she can do it with two, I'm motivated to do it with one!

I was just on my way over here to post the same question! We had a natural / med-free birth with DS at at birthing center with midwives. It was an awesome experience and I was looking forward to a home birth this time around. When we found out we were having twins, we switched to an OB who has his own practice and is very pro-natural birth. Our midwives aren't able to treat multiple pgs, so that wasn't an option for us. My first labor was 6 hours long. I am hoping for a similar experience this time around, if baby A is head down, and hoping that if things move quickly, the c-section question won't even come up.

The lady I used to nanny for had a med-free birth with twins. They were both head down Baby A came with no problem and Baby B followed 9 minutes later.
