Success after IF

Question from a 3TC'er

Hi! I have a question about blocked tubes and possible hydrosalpinx. My doctor seems to be comfortable with leaving the tube, and continuing with IUI. Still, all the research (scholarly articles, not just wiki) I have read said the tube, if it is hydrosalpinx, is potentially toxic. When I asked her about it, she shook it off and showed me some research in return where spontaneous pregnancy occured with the hydro.

So here is my question that I hope you ladies can help me with.

1. Did any of you have success with a blocked tube or hydrosalpinx?  Or what was your experience with a blocked tube/hydro?

Re: Question from a 3TC'er

  • I have a bumpie friend (no longer around for non-IF reasons) who had one.  Her first spontaneous pregnancy as well as her first IVF ended in ectopic pregnancies.  I also have an IRL friend with one, but she had some other issues with her tubes and had them both removed at the recommendation of  her RE.  I personally would not be wasting money/time on IUIs if I had blocked tubes.

  • I have no advice on your situation. I just wanted to pop in and say you may get more advice directly to a hydrosalpinx and blocked tube if you edit your post title and add that in.

    Good luck!

A lot of years and a million tears finally led me to you.
After 7 years trying to concieve, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs, my third IVF was a success!
