Increased movement at 40 weeks?

Anybody have this happen? My LO has been going crazy for the past 40 mins and it's super uncomfortable. I tried some yoga positions but I can't sleep due to the movement!

Re: Increased movement at 40 weeks?

  • I have an AP, so most of the movement that I had felt was never really crazy. I never felt like I had a little soccer player in there lol. But the past couple weeks she has been moving like crazy. She hasn't slowed down at all! I'm sure I can just feel her movement so much better because she's getting cramped in there. I don't really have any advice on getting the movements to slow down, so good luck and I hope you get some sleep!

  • I'm. It 40 weeks, but my LO is going nuts constantly. And it's painful how much he's stretching out in there!

  • Our little Bug has yet to slow down at 39 weeks...the movements are getting painful for me too, which makes sense since baby is getting stronger. Bug is definitely more active when I'm lying down, so there are some mornings when I wake up and actually feel tender/bruised inside from all of the activity.

Hopefully your LO will tire out and you'll get some sleep! :)

  • mine is going nuts lately, it's quite painful too. I have this chart from the midwife to check off the hour when I feel a movement (they want 10 movements per day at least) but I can't even use the darn chart because it's like a bajillion movements per day, often in the middle of the night!

Since they are supposed to "slow down" towards the end, I fear the end is not in sight yet for me...

  • I'm also 40weeks and the past 3 nights my little man has been so active. I guess we are both uncomfortable and getting aggravated! Last night was the first time in my pregnancy that I couldn't sleep. Hopefully he'll be here soon, but then I won't be sleeping either!
  • Thanks ladies- the baby did finally settle down but man my lower belly is aching today!
  • My LO would not stop rolling and kicking for over 2 hours! Not joking. I could not sleep, her jabs were almost painful!!
