I have a sinus infection from hell and am trying to get some antibiotics prescribed. What have you taken while BFing? It looks like most things are okay (according to a super quick google search), but wanted real life info!
I've taken amox and z-pack. Google Dr. Thomas Hale. He and his staff are the authority on what is and isn't safe for breastfeeding. From what remember you could send them an email.
i think i've taken three different things and don't remember them all--antibiotics while BFing are totally not a big deal. i think one that i took was erythromycin. feel better soon!
talk to your doc about it... if your PCP isn't sure- ask the pediatrician or OB.
I have taken some that were OK -but also was on some that were not OK (when i had a kidney infection right after giving birth).... i wouldn't take advice from the internet... ask your docs.
I used to be Goldie_locks_5 but the new nest is so screwed up that I was forced to start over.

I figured my 'doc' would prescribe amoxicillan or a z-pack so I called the lactation consultant at my hospital and they said both were fine, but amoxicillan was a little preferred.
I starting taking it last night and am already starting to feel better.

Thanks ladies!!

I'm allergic to all the regular ones, so I took Clindamiacin (sp?)
I actually trust Dr. Hale on this WAY more than your average PCP. They seem to be clueless on BFing issues.
