We still haven't had a baby shower yet and I've been a little paranoid.  I was so afraid that the baby would come early and we'd have nothing.  We got a crib early on (12 weeks?), but we didn't have a mattress. 

We bought some prefolds, a friend let us borrow two newborn diaper covers, and my sister in law just gave us a car seat (our backup).  To top it off, MIL gave us an old crib mattress and a little outfit today in which we could take him/her home.  If all else fails, my child will have something to wear, something to pee in, something to ride home in, and something to sleep on!  Woo hoo!!!!!

    *hugs* I know those feelings - the anxiety and the stress...

    I have to admit, my shower was this weekend, and although we now have a crib and some clothes (and a gift card for the car seat), we still don't have a diaper (we are CDing)....  guess we will be doing a bit more shopping on our own. We didn't want to buy anything before the shower to avoid unnecessary returns - so now it is go time.

    As for the diapers, we got prefolds for the newborn stage, but we registered for FuzziBunz one size for when they're bigger.  I'm kind of looking forward to that go time.  I don't know when my shower is, except that it's not next week, and it's hard to just say to myself "it'll happen when it happens".

    A few of my friends that cloth diaper have said they preferred using disposables in the first couple of weeks-they fit better and the meconium is apparently pretty nasty to try to wash off prefolds.

    I haven't had my shower yet either.  We are lucky that we have some items that DS is not using to work just in case LO decides to break free early.

    My shower isn't for another 5 weeks (May 20th).  We have the crib/mattress but it isn't set up yet.  When I had a minor freakout about not being ready, my mom said the baby could sleep in a dresser drawer.  Thanks mom!  That didn't help at all!

    I haven't had mine either. My sister let slip some hints on the surprise (not too swift, that one) so I don't think it is until later in May.  I'm worried and anxious so I let the hubs know my concerns since he can talk to MIL and step mom. Hopeing he gets the ball rolling since I am not supposed to know about it! I feel your pain!!!!
