Happy Easter ladies!
DH and I will be leaving shortly to meet his family (immediate plus several Aunts, Uncles and cousins). Although we're keeping the pregnancy secret for a little longer, at least this year it won't bother me when I hear:
"Isn't it about time you guys started having children?"
"When is little Johnny going to have a cousin to play with?"
"You better get a move on. You're getting OLD."
I heard all of these things last year at Easter (and again at Thanksgiving, and again at Christmas)! The kicker of it is, my DH's two sisters are both older than I am (I'm 29), and neither of them are even married. The poor things have to sit there and listen to it, with the relatives not even thinking about how they might be feeling.
Hopefully I can keep a straight face today when I hear the usual digs! Anyone else expecting similar comments today?
Re: Today I'll have no problem hearing THIS...
Comments like that really irk me! I know people generally mean well, but it's such a personal thing when/if people decide to have children.
Enjoy basking in your little secret today, it will be nice to let those comments roll right off your shoulders this year.
I totally get that. I went to lunch with my mom yesterday, and all she does is make baby jokes. I had such a hard time not telling her. I wanted to wait until my dad was there too.
I held a friend's baby at work last Wednesday, and everyone was like "you're next", or "when are you going to have your own". I didn't know I was pregnant until Friday, (though I suspected), so I was laughing inside.
Oh yes i know this situation. I spent the weekend with my inlaws aswell, MIL, FIL, SIL and BIL and DH. On sat sil and i went and got our toes done and she being recently married is already ready to start trying and she is well aware that we miscarried and has no clue that i am already pregnant again and all she talked about was ttc and telling me that it will be ok that i will get pregnant agian soon. She is older than me and i almost think she is trying to get pregnant before me. (my two sil's are the most competeitive people i know and i try my best to keep out of that)
It was all i could do to hold it in. But we are keeping things secret this time so i held it in!
