Baby carrier + diaper bag

Recommend your diaper bag to use while baby-wearing. I have an Ergo, and am looking at some backpack style diaper bags (or just regular backpacks!), since my current shoulder bag can sometimes feel cumbersome. I'd like something a little more gender neutral so my husband feels comfortable carrying it. Thanks!

  • I am most comfortable with a backpack.

  • Honestly, I bought the fanny pack for the Ergo and with the pockets it has plus that I never carried a diaper bag. I fit one dipe, wipes, wet bag, my wallet, phone and a couple other odds and ends perfectly. Things like toys, books, blankets I left in the car and only tossed what I needed into the Ergo or my purse.

  • I bought a crossbody bag that can go on my hip, back, front, wherever. When the carrier was on my front, i could wear the bag on my back. Now that I carry LO on my back, the bag goes on my front. I put the bag on and then put on my carrier.

  • We have the Fisher Price backpack and we got this specifically so DH wouldn't feel un-manly while carrying it. It has special buckles that can strap onto a stroller or shopping cart too. It has a ton of pockets and is not too big or too small. I frequently wear it while DS is in the BabyHawk.

It comes in black now, but we have the brown. It's also pretty well built with very sturdy zippers. Not bad for $40.

  • I have the Charlie bag from So Young Mother, very gender neutral - https://www.soyoung.ca/products/charlie-bags-2/

It can be carried as a handbag/messenger style/backpack and also comes with stroller ties.  I use it as a backpack with the Ergo, a shoulder bag when carrying my bub, and sometimes attached to the stroller.

Before that though I just used a regular backpack, both worked equally well with the Ergo.  :)

  • This is the one I used until she was older and I could use a backpack style purse I had:

*LOVE IT* I can use it hiking if I want, holds everything I need, can access from the front/bottom or the top - and I used this feature daily, lots of spare pockets (including a zippered and mesh side pocket for food/water).

  • For an all day outing a regular old backpack works the best for me.  For shorter trips, I use the JuJuBe BFF.  If I had known how well a backpack works I probably wouldn't have gotten the BFF.  I do like something a little prettier for certain occasions though, so it's nice to have.
