She's super sweet and loves kids but don't let that sweet face fool you. She's Captain Destructo lately...
So DH has been gone for quite a few months and Pendleton, our dog, has started to notice. I used to be able to leave her out of her crate while we were gone and she was fine. Now I've had to crate her when we leave the house but its gotten worse. She's started to do things while I'm home. In the past month she has:
Eaten diapers. 11 different times. (And I rarely use disposables so she's looking for them any chance she gets).
Eaten a quarter of a baking chocolate bar that she STOLE OUT OF THE PANTRY.
Eaten several dirty tampons she's stolen from the trash (I even picked one up after it had found its way back out of her body).
Destroyed 2 Sophies
Peed in her crate (I only found this out because when I was leaving to go to the store, she wouldn't get in it).
Dug several holes in our backyard.
I'm about 2 seconds from shipping her to MH. Ugh...
Re: DOG FOR SALE!
Oh my... that is nuts that your dog ate all those things! Our dog would always pick through the trash and eat tissues and stuff like that, but not the dirty ones .. apparently he has a fine palate haha.
But in all seriousness, it definitely sounds like separation anxiety.. your dog definitely notices YH not there.. when MH had to go away for an interview in another state for a weekend, our dog acted out like crazy!
I'm not sure I know how to "fix" that problem, but I just wanted to let you know that I hope you are able to figure it out soon before she keeps eating more of your stuff!
Yea, I know she's having separation anxiety so I feel bad for her. I try to keep her busy by walking her at least once a day and taking her out to play, just the two of us. But she's still being a bush. The thing is that she normally is a great dog- she listens really well, I don't walk her on a leash, and she is super smart. But she is just getting into things because she misses daddy.
Who knew the dog could be like having a toddler?!

Awww, poor boots! I have two dogs who I love to pieces but are huge PITAS, so I understand. One of them decided to poop in h and my room last week for no discernable reason.
On another note, has e's sleeping improved for you? I remember you were struggling with that a few weeks back and tried the magic sleep suit...
Not cool Pendleton.
I need to bookmark posts like these whenever I soften and think about getting a pet.
LOL. My husband and I both love animals, but before we got married we made a list of criteria that has to be met before we can get a pet.
1. We will be done having children, and all kids can go to the bathroom themselves.
2. We have a fenced in yard.
3. We have the finances to kennel the dog when we go out of town and not rely on friends to care for them. (This is because we are always the people called to pet sit our friends' pets- I don't mind doing it, but I don't want to have to ask anyone)
As of today, we meet none of the criteria, lol. BUT, we are looking into fencing to keep my son in, LOL.
Aw, do it! Although maybe not this second. Training a puppy is high maintenance! I love our Jimmy the most. He is such a sweet pup.
He's a labradoodle. My husband is allergic to dogs, so we had limited options. But he is pretty much the greatest.
He is amazing that way. He does shed a bit but not if we keep up with brushing him. And his hair is less poodle, more lab overall. He really has the nicest temperament - I highly recommend!
