It seems like a lot of people are telling their families today. Just wanted to send one post for everyone in case I'm not on later.
Hope everything goes well and that you get the response you want and deserve. 
And of course, post the details!! DH and I won't be announcing to family until 2nd tri, so I love hearing how everyone else is going about it.

It's so sweet of you to post this!
I wanted to wait til 2nd tri like you, but yesterday we had breakfast with the in-laws, and DH blurted out the news. Wanted to strangle him.
The in-laws started crying, because they know we were not able to freeze any embryos before my treatment started. MIL was shaking, and kept yelling, "It's a miracle!!!"
So, we'll be blurting it out to my parents later this afternoon. They will be much more chill.

DH and I are waiting to tell everyone til my ultrasound on the 19th, but I'm going crazy waiting and so is my sister. (Sis is due a day behind me so she and I are telling our parents together over Skype as soon as I have u/s confirmation that everything is going ok, but it's killing her to keep it from our parents and her ILs since she sees them all the time).
Sounds like yesterday was quite interesting! I hope today's announcement is a lot more low key (but that they are still really excited for you). Let us know how it goes!
That is so great! How awesome that you and your sister get to go through this together (and that your parents get a double surprise). Is this the first pg for both of you? My cousin's both got pregnant within a month of each other; my aunt was convinced she'd never have grandkids, then the family multiplied almost over night. It was so much fun for them as grandparents.
Yup, it's the first for both of us. DH and I have been dealing with IF for years and our first IUI worked. Sis found out she's KU a couple days after I found out (totally unplanned). The odds have to be crazy small of that ever happening again, lol.
That is crazy, your parents are going to be so so excited! Special congrats to you and DH, I'm so happy your first IUI was a success. I definitely want to hear an update once you announce!
We told my IL's over the phone yesterday (they live in a different state), we mailed a package of a picture frame of our pregnancy test and one of me pointing to my belly with a 4 week sign behind me and we called and told them to open it a day early. My DH's mom, dad, and sister are very excited. It is the first grandchild for them. We told my mom with the same pictures but, put them in a Grandma's brag book and wrapped it up for her. We were all crying!!
I was reluctant to tell my niece and nephew (she's 6 and he's 10) but, we are telling them in a few hours at Easter lunch along with my sister and BIL.
Good luck to everyone else announcing today! I am glad other people know even though it was fun to keep it a secret for 10 days just DH and I.
Such cute ways to tell family! We did it boringly since DH couldn't wait for then 2 seconds to tell his parents. OH WELL. : )
We are going to take some cute photos with the due date (once we go to the Dr. to confirm) and send them to our grandparents at least.
We aren't telling anyone else until 2nd trimester, but it's so cute to hear the stories of how others told.

We are waiting to tell close family for a couple weeks then everyone else at second tri. This weekend has been so hard for me because I am not the keep a secret type of person. I hate being sneaky and lying (when it comes to alcohol) it makes me so uncomfortable. I'd rather avoid my family until its time to tell them than see them and keep such an important secret from them. Thank goodness the holiday weekend is almost over and then I can go back to avoiding them for the next couple weeks. Lol.

That's great that you get to share the news with your grandparents as well. I'm sure they'll be thrilled!
If it's going to bring unnecessary anxiety, I'm all for telling early! I'm glad you feel better now and that everyone was so excited.

I guess that is the only perk of living so far away from our parents. If we were closer, it would be really hard not to tell sooner (DH's family is Italian, so wine is a staple for family get togethers). I'm pretty sure our friends will know before we can announce to our family, they'll be super suspicious if I pass on drinks for more than a few get togethers.
Hope you made it through the holiday weekend without too much stress over keeping your good news a secret!
Definitely sounds like its a bit of a perk to live far away. The weekend was a little tough, but I'm glad now we can relax until we tell them in two weeks. Can't wait!
