Truly Pregnant or Chemical Pregnancy?

(First time poster!)

I'm looking for input into whether I'm actually pregnant or I'm experiencing a chemical pregnancy. Here's my story:

Thursday (Day 27 of current cycle): At 11 AM, faint orange/pink color mixed into normal white discharge. (This is very normal for me a few days before my period begins.) Color went away by evening.

Friday (Day 28): Brown (tan) spotting in the AM. Color went away by evening.

Saturday (Day 29): No spotting in AM, but in the afternoon, a brown/faintly red more liquid-like spotting started. I assumed this was my period beginning to start, but by the evening it had changed to faint brown spotting mixed in with normal white sticky discharge.

Sunday (Day 30): Very minimal brown spotting mixed with normal white sticky discharge. Took two Wondfo pregnancy tests with morning urine. Both showed very faint positive lines.

I have also had some minor breast tenderness since Day 24, but nothing extreme.

I most likely ovulated on Day 17 (this is normal for me).

Thoughts? Pregnant or Chemical Pregnancy? Thanks in advance for your input! :)

  • Are you saying you took the hpts last Sunday or today? Unless you're now getting negatives now, a line is a line. I would go get yourself a digital and retest. Call your doctor to report if it truly was a chemical so it can be on record. FX it's super early.

  • My understanding of a chemical pregnancy, and I could be wrong, is when you get a positive test and then miscarry very early, so you bleed close to when you should get your normal period. I'm not exactly sure why you suspect this unless you tested earlier and had darker lines or something like that. It sounds like you are experiencing some spotting along with early pregnancy and that you tested fairy early. I would call and confirm with your doctor.

  • The tests were both taken today. I think you're right, and I'll test again tomorrow, hopefully with a different type of test. Thanks again! :)

  • You can still get positive pregnancy tests the first few weeks after a chemical pregnancy/miscarriage (because those hormones are still elevated, it takes a while for them to regulate.)

I suggest asking your doctor to order Beta/HCG tests a few days apart to see if your levels are going up or not.

It is a very confusing and difficult experience to have.  Hang in there.

The word you're looking for is SEX.  I promise.  No, it's not gender.  It's sex.  You're welcome.

Yes! This is exactly what happened to me in February! I took a  test on a Wednesday and got a faint line, took a digital on Thursday and it was negative and my period started that night.

OP you just need to wait it out and see if your period comes. This time I had some brown spotting and thought my period was coming but, I ended up being pregnant. My advise would be to keep testing until AF shows because the lines should get darker if you are pregnant. Also test with FMU. GL
