Trouble TTC

Skipping cycles while TTC?

This past March my husband and I wanted to start trying for a baby since my maternity insurance finally kicked in. My last period was in early February. I was doing ovulation tests and I thought I got a positive last week of Feb. but my period never came in March. Its April now and I am again overdue. I also took about 9 pregnancy tests throughout the entire month of March... All negative. Went to the doctor and he said just wait but Im starting to really worry and wonder when me and my husband can actually start trying. If you skip a cycle, when does it start again? When should I be concerned something is wrong? Im just very sad that the month we wanted to start TTC this problem happened and I just want to get back to normal and Know that Im ovulating and can continue to try to get pregnant. Any experience or advice?

  • The Trying to Get Pregnant board is probably a better place for you: https://community.thebump.com/cs/ks/forums/4236744/ShowForum.aspx

But to answer your question, were you on birth control before? Most doctors will wait until you are 60 days since your last period before doing anything about it, but some will wait as long as 90.

  • Agreed the TTGP board is a good place to start. You should read Taking Charge of Your Fertility and start charting if you haven't already to help you know for sure when/if you are Oing.
