We FINALLY have a Saturday without rain. Dh is out of town on a business trip and I'm about to head out with my supply list and GPS.
Anyone else hunting for baby bargains at garage sales? I went to one a few weeks ago and it was a total bust, so I'm hoping for more luck today. Let us know if you go out and find anything today! I love to live through other people's bargains. ![]()
Re: Garage sale season!
I got a Dutailier glider with ottoman (originally $400) off of Craig's List for $75. It is beautiful and in great condition.

I haven't hit up any garage sales yet, but the past two weeks I went to Goodwill. Between last weekend and this weekend I spent $24 on baby clothes ($1 per piece of clothing!!!) and $1 on a really cute story book that couldn't be resisted.
I just can't bring myself to spend $15+ on an outfit that LO may or may not be able to wear and is going to spit up all over anyway... but if other people want to purchase cute outfits as gifts I certainly won't object, LOL!
10/24/2011 - Surprise BFP; EDD 6/21/12! BOY!
Sweet baby boy born 6/14 9lb 2oz via csection.
Love to hear about these great deals! I didn't do so badly. The first sale had TONS of great clothes, but mostly for 12 months and up. I grabbed about 15 pieces that were in really great shape-denim overalls, nice tops and a swimsuit, all for $1 each. I figure I can put them away until they fit, although I really don't want to be storing a lot of clothes 'for the future', so I have to be careful about that. I also got a changing pad for the car for $2, as we spend a LOT of time on the road.
I also got this swing for $10. Apparently it retails for $170 ($119 on Amazon)! I was really on the fence, but I think it will work well.
Other than the swing and the clothes, the only other real thing I got was this rocket ship rocker. It was a bit of an impulse buy. Not sure it was worth $20, but it's in our house now. I guess I keep hoping that our kid will have a huge imagination, and perhaps this will help him spend his evenings zooming around the universe, exploring other worlds. You know, in a year and a half when he finally fits the thing.
