OK ladies, I expect there to be strong opinions on this topic. Be forewarned I am a little bit crunchy granola about these kinds of things but I am interested in your opinion...
Who is planning on taking placenta capsules after the birth?
Here is some information for those who are curious...

I won't be doing this, though I know someone who is. It grosses me out, and the research doesn't seem to be conclusive. It would make more sense to me to eat/take it raw than cooked/steamed - it loses a lot of nutrients in the process.
A question though - if you're really overdue (like 42 weeks) and it degrades, will you still encapsulate it? What is your cutoff time?
I would so do this if my husband wouldn't disown me! The first time I heard about a woman eating her placenta I thought it was the most disgusting thing I'd ever heard of, but after all the research I've seen, I could completely see having the capsules made.
Again, since DH would just die- both of the thought of this and of embarrassment (I've already used up all my points just convincing him of the benefits of a natural birth)- I won't this time, but kudos to you for considering it!
This is where I am and I certainly won't be eating it raw.
TBH, it seems like a fad to me
I'm absolutely doing it and I'm not ashamed to admit it. If I have a hope of something helping me avoid PPD without having to go back on medications that will possibly endanger my plans to breastfeed then why wouldn't I do that?
I think people who get all icked out about it are pretty immature, honestly. It's not like we're talking about eating it for dinner on a plate with some A-1 sauce.
Although that might be good too!
