Success after IF

Just got back from the most insanely crowded egg hunt.

Whoa -- that was nuts.  It was at a retirement community near our home.  They had tons of activities for the kids, except that you literally could not even GET to them because there were so many people.  Imagine all the residents trying to get around in wheelchairs and walkers and literally a thousand people with strollers and small children packed in.  There were four egg hunts going at once in various areas.  When we were trying to leave, we couldn't get out of the elevator because the corridor was so crowded.  All I could think was that if, God forbid, there was a fire, we would not be able to get out.  We will not be doing that again!

And the girls ended up with two eggs each (not that they need the candy anyway) because with so many people, they were limiting the egg hunts to two minutes.  We didn't get to see the bunny, make balloon animals, or even get near the petting zoo because the lines were so long.  At least they are too young to know what they missed -- they had a good time, anyways.

  • Not sure if that sounds like a good time - especially for the parents - or not!

  • Wow.  Is it like that every year there (did anyone warn you)?

  • Ugh. That is why I decided to do one for Asha and her friends in the garden of our apt building - they'd get trampled at the community one.

I have no idea.  The flyer said, "8th Annual," so I'm guessing it is like this every year.  They did a really good job advertising it, and it was free for our town and the surrounding communities.  I think the beautiful weather helped, too.  Crazy!

  • That does sound insane.  We did one for E in my IL's front yard-which he loved and did not have to deal with the crowds this year, thank goodness.
