Hi! I've been on the knot/nest for awhile but created a new username since nobody IRL knows we are TTC.
We've been TTC since 08/11 and I've had long, irregular cycles since I stopped BC in August. Cycles 2 & 3 stopped because of provera and I'm on #4 now. I'm starting acupuncture this month to see if that helps regulate. This cycle I started charting to see if I'm even ovulating.
I saw my OB in December to get provera as I was past CD60. I saw her again in January for my annual exam and she told me to call if I need provera again and also brought up clomid. She didn't mention any monitoring. Back in December she did test my thyroid which was fine. In February, I called to get provera as I was at 60 days again. She was out but the nurse practitioner prescribed me provera and asked about clomid (which I declined thanks to what I've learned from lurking). I am able to refill the provera 3 times (which I have never heard of before). So would you do the refill? If so, at what CD?
Re: Intro and Provera Question
I don't know much how Provera works, since I have the opposite problem (sometimes cycles are too short). But a refill sounds appropriate, if you wait to use it the next time that you have a 60 day+ cycle.
However, it sounds to me like Provera is not going to be the answer to your problems. You've taken it several times. You might need to start seeing an RE and starting testing, even though it hasn't been a year yet.
Charting is a good idea, but if you are having consisently very long cycles with the need to take Provera on a regular basis, I wouldn't wait much longer. Just my $.02.

I agree with Kelly. It sounds like you aren't ovulating. If I were you, at this point I would look for a different doctor who is willing to help figure out why rather than just keep giving you provera. I also went off the pill in August and I've been on it 3 times but my doctor has done blood work and tests to figure out if I have any issues.
Good luck and welcome!
