Thank you card Q

There are some people (a couple friends and family) that have given us little gifts at several points in my pregnancy and now at our showers. But I never know when to give them a TY card because if I did after every little gift or thing it would just be never ending ty cards (which I personally wouldn't mind writing but I think would be almost annoying for the recipient because I do personally thank them after each item) but I also don't want to be or appear ungrateful.

For at least a couple I know they've been saving their "big" gift for the shower which is still coming so I have been waiting to give them a ty card but I don't want them to feel unthanked for what they have already given me. 

What have you done or what would you suggest?

    Ugh I feel guilty just reading this because I haven't written any thank-you notes for anything I've received since LO's birth 4 weeks ago. So maybe you can just wait until after the shower and thank them for everything at once. Then again, it sounds like you have better manners than I do.
