C-sections

Possible 2nd pregnancy..need input. long.

Hello C-section mommies :)

Exactly 11 months ago I gave birth to my first son via c-section. I am searching for some input because I THINK I might be pregnant again. I know the same pregnancy symptoms occurs with the 2nd pregnancy...but I was wondering if previous c-section mommies feel anything different? Let me explain a bit more...I usually take birth control however I was not able to purchase another pack after I ran out last month. I use a kind that allows me to only have a period every 3 months. Well the first day of my period was around March 12th I believe. I have been experiencing a few things that have made me believed I might be pregnant...the first thing, about a week or a little more after my period..I had a few spots of blood one day and then one time the next. It didnt show up any other time and it was very VERY light.  Then...of course I have been feeling sick to my stomach and faint like. It might be a little tmi..but my stomach got upset a few days in a row despite not eating anything to make it so. It was a symptom in my first pregnancy...next, headaches. I am prone to headaches so I did not think anything of it at first. But they occured shortly after I spotted and lasted for days and still occuring. Headaches were my main symptom of my first pregnancy. With my first pregnancy...I found out within 3 weeks of my pregnancy and it was all due to my breasts hurting and leaking. I do not know about my breasts this time around because I am still breastfeeding. They do feel a bit sore when pushed on a certain way but I dont want to rule this in just in case its unrelated. I thought I couldnt be pregnant this soon...but I looked up info about period, ovulation, etc...and found out the spotting, etc works with the ovulation timeline I would of had..which would of been around the 26th. If I am pregnant, I would be around 3 weeks and 5 days.

But the main thing I am wondering about is my most recent "symptom"...starting yesterday my "uterus area" has become extremely sore. It feels like it did right after I had my c-section and was healing. I am use to pain around that area because I have had ovary cyst area, scar tissue, etc...but this I can definitely tell is my uterus. It is bothering the crap out of me...I was wondering if it could be sore from an egg attaching? I know it is recommended for a c section mother to wait 18 to 24 mth to have another child...and I am only at 11 months. Have any of yall with more than one child experience this?  If I am still feeling this way next week I plan on going and getting a test done...but I wanted to ask some experienced mothers first....any input?

  • My 2nd delivery was my c/s so I haven't been pg since having my c/s.  Just go to Target or Walmart and buy a test and then you'll know and can stop wondering.  Getting pg this soon isn't recommended but it isn't the end of the world.

  • I know its not lol I'm not really worried about my uterus holding up..i was just saying that could be a reason why my uterus is hurting if I am pregnant maybe??  I plan on going to get a test soon..but I have to wait till payday. I just wanted to talk to other c section mommies about their experiences.

  • I think uterine pain is common in early pregnancy regardless of a C-section or not. Your best bet is to take a HPT. I wouldn't worry about the pregnancies being too close together either. BTW your LO is adorable, that is such a sweet newborn pic!

  • I didn't have any more pain in my uterus area with my 2nd pregnancy than my first.  But it has been 5 years between my c-section and pregnancy.  It may be possible with not as much space between kids to experience the pain though.

  • second pregnancies do not always have the same symptoms.  Sometimes they do and sometimes they don't.  If you are already having symptoms then you would have a positive pregnancy test...so go to the store and buy one and see what it says.

Just because you have a csection you can not feel the egg attaching...do you know how small that egg is??

I get pain from periods and pregnancy sooo best thing you can do is just take the test to know for sure :)  Good luck to you.

  • I dont want anyone to tell me if I am pregnant or not. I would not trust anyone with that anyhow except a real doctor preg test. Why does everyone think that lol ...I just included my symptoms in there for my story..All I was really wanting was wondering if there were any other mommies out there who got preg soon after their first c section..and if they had experienced any soreness when they got preg again.

  • I'm pregnant with my second and my LO is 10 months old, so I'm in a similar situation.  I have not experienced any of the uterine pain you are mentioning, however I'm still early so I guess this could happen. I get a lot of the twinges of my uterus stretching but not a soreness.

You are also dealing with getting AF back while BFing and coming off BCP so your periods are probably still a little whacky.  I know mine were.
