Hi ladies!
I was having a pretty normal twin pregnancy until Monday when the boys decided to arrive at 31w1d. Someone told me to head over to this board and even just scanning the board I'm learning things already! The boys were born at 3lbs 13 oz and 3 lbs 5 oz. They got off their ventilators today, we still aren't able to hold them but hope to soon. They just noticed the smaller boy (Colin) has a heart murmur which they are hoping to have test results on tomorrow. Harrison (the bigger baby) is doing fine so far.
Can't wait to get to know you all better, I feel like I have so much to learn.
Re: introducing myself-twin boys born at 31w
Congrats!
Great weight for twin 31 weekers)! My son, Harrison is his middle name:), was born at 35 weeks weighed 3 lbs 12 oz. So that is fantastic that your boys were both well over 3 lbs and both off ventilators. Sounds like they'll just need a little time to eat and grow and should be home with you in no time!
Ask away if you have any questions. We've all been in your shoes, and it's amazing the amount of information and support to be found here.
Congratulations. I saw your poll of the Multiples board, and I have to say, I love your boys' names!
I hope Colin's tests come back with good news. Good luck!
Congrats again! That's great news about getting off the vents. Are they on CPAP now? Miles had a heart murmur diagnosed in the NICU and ended getting treated with medicine to close a PDA. It also turns out he has an atrial septal defect, but it's very small and will close on it's own with time. He's completely unaffected by it. The NICU can be very overwhelming especially in the beginning. The preemie resource blog link is at the top of the page to help you out a bit.
