I saw your response to my Putting Nicholas in Undies post. I hear you. I put him in undies for his nap (no way would I do it for overnight, that's just asking for trouble) because I had a feeling that he was holding his pee all morning (he had held it in for 4 hours the other day) and then letting loose once he had the Pull Up on (like he was waiting for it). I figured if he peed himself and the crib enough times, he would realize how yucky it feels and not do it.
Haven't decided what I am going to do today yet. I'm actually leaning towards the Pull Up.
Re: desabean- yes but
I'm so sorry you had such a mess to clean up!
I know that DD was totally happy to hold it until the pull up came out, and so we really did have to ditch the pull up at nap to get her on track.
Does he just not care if he's in wet poopy pants?
That was my nephew. He didn't care at all. (He took tough love to get through it, long story).
I'm not sure that's a bad thing (him holding it until nap time and then going) I mean, if it goes on and on, no, it's not good but for the first week....I think it's ok. I'm pretty sure G held her poop the first week until nap time to put it in the pull up.
I think it is really positive that he can and knows how to hold it-- that is a huge battle in potty training imo. I would go for the pull up and fight the nap/overnight battle in a few weeks or even months. He's getting there.
Must be a boy thing. My niece hated feeling wet and yucky. My nephew could sit in it all day long.
Nicholas doesn't seem to mind either.
Okay so Pull Up back on and if he continues to hold it for 5- 6 hours (amount of awake time between wake up and nap) for a few weeks, then revisit the undies at naptime.
