Girl name: Ivy

So I have always loved the name Ivy for a girl, but of course I had 2 boys first.... Now I am pregnant with our one and only girl - last baby and want to name her Ivy Hazel Clark... However, I am worried that Beyonce named her baby Blue Ivy... Do you think the name Ivy will get super popular b/c of that??? I really hate popular baby names... What do you think? Also any other suggestions to go with Hazel - it was my great-grandma's name... nothing like Olivia, Emma, Madison, Emily - too popular!!!

    My 1st thought was Beyonce...

     Of the others, Emily is the only one I'd consider. The others are nms.

    My first thought when I read Ivy was the character on the new 90210.  I am hanging my head in shame for admitting that I watch it.  :/  Anyway I didn't think of Beyonce at all, but you are right that it could become more popular because of her.  If you truly love it and have for a long time, I would use it anyway.  Not sure how it is in your area but I have not ever met an Ivy before.

    You may want to consider a girl name that can be "tom boyish" since she will have two older brothers.

    Examples:

    Alexandra (Alex); Victoria (Vicki or Tori); Veronica (Roni); Andrea (Andy) and so on and so forth!

    Just a though.

    The only name my hubby and I could agree on if it was a girl is Addison (we are having a boy).

    LOL no worries I actually watch Secret Life of an American teenager and I am 31... Never met and Ivy and we are military and live EVERYWHERE which is what makes me love it even more :) I feel like everyone has had a girl before us and has taken all the names!!!

    Im in love with the 'classy vintage' names. Grace, Amelia, Evelyn, Scarlet... 

    We have two picked right now. 
    Evelyn  and  Elayna... apparently we like the letter e...

    I always thought celeb baby names weren't popular?? I could be wrong here. 
    I think you'd be safe with Ivy

    I think Ivy Hazel is pretty and unique! I've never met an Ivy irl. I also don't think of Beyonce when I hear it.

    I'm pretty sure we're going with the name Ivy too.  I had the same concerns about Beyonce, but I decided I didn't care because I love the name.  Also, Ivy is Beyonce's daughter's middle name, not her first, so I'm hoping that people will eventually start calling her daughter Blue, instead of Blue Ivy and people will forget the Beyonce association.

    Awesome!  Whew. :)  I am also a die hard of the original so that is how I got sucked into the new one.  And to the PP who watches Secret Life, I watch that one too.  ha!

    I'd go with Ivy and not worry about it.  By the time she hits school Beyonce and her baby will be news so old that it is practically prehistoric!  I love the name you picked! 

    On a side note- two girl names I love (I am having a boy) are Lissa (pronounced like alissa but without the "a") which means "honeybee" in Greek, and the name Nova, which means "the birth of a star".  I love names that mean something!

    my great grandmothers name was Ivy.  It's a beautiful, old-fashioned, classic name.  Go for it, and don't give Beyonce a second thought.

    Aww... I just love it too and think it goes well with Hazel - my great grandma's name :) Are you having a boy??? If not you should def name your girl Ivy one day!!!
