I'm in labor. It's not fun.

I woke up at 2:30 with some pretty uncomfortable contractions. By 4, I started spotting a bit. I had my doctor appointment at 8:20, where I got checked and was at 4 cm (I was at 3 last week). They hooked me up to the monitor for about 20 minutes to see how the baby was handling it, and everything looked good.

Since I'm planning on a med-free birth, my doctor told me to go home, walk around, etc. until I feel like I need to get checked again. At that point, I'll go back to her office (which is connected to the hospital), and if I'm at 7 or so cm, I'll get admitted.

The pain is manageable, but it is not even a little bit fun. I keep telling (lying) to myself that it can't get much worse.

At least I'll have a baby soon!

It's a *** but you can do it! I had my first med-free. It is extremely intense but so worth it and you can definetley do it! Just try and remember not to tense up during the contractions and instead relax as much as possible and breath through them. Good luck!
