I ordered a pillow from etsy and I'm just not happy with it. Mostly because the applicae (sp?) is not centered. I'm trying to love it but it's driving me crazy! Also, I asked for it to be on a pale blue cotton twill, but the fabric has a sheen to it.
What should I do? Do you think I should return the pillow to her and ask her to remake it with the image centered this time? I've never dealt with etsy returns before. Am I able to get it fixed?

I would contact her. I ordered a card box from Etsy for my wedding. The thing came so damaged. She quickly fixed it.
If the person refuses, you can always contact the Etsy people and show your dissatisfaction.
I've had very good experiences with folks on Etsy being eager to fix errors. I ordered an embroidered handkerchief for my wedding, for example, and I was very specific about the design and colors. The seller sent me the wrong design, and she was very apologetic for the mistake when I wrote her to ask for a refund. In fact, she both refunded my money AND sent another handkerchief with the correct design on it! It was too late to arrive in time for my wedding, but I consider that my fault because I waited until the 11th hour to order it in the first place. Anyway, I'm sure if you send the seller a nice note explaining the difference between what you ordered and what you received, she'll be willing to make it right for you. Just remember when you email her that you catch more flies with honey than you do with vinegar. ;-)
Good luck!
Was it a custom order? If so, they should have sent you an image of the finished product for your approval before shipping it. That's what I've always done, and I thought it was a pretty standard practice.
If not, and it was something you ordered based on the pictures then I would send it back if it was misrepresented.
