VBAC

1st Appt. & Feeling Hopeful

We had our first appointment this afternoon and everything went very well, our first ultrasound will be next Thursday.  I'm feeling very hopeful because the nurse practitioner that I saw today asked "So you're going to do a VBAC, right?" before I had said anything about it.  So I let her know that yes, I want to go for it and want to prepare as much as possible in advance to help my chances.  She was very very supportive and when I asked her the tough question of if there was anyone I should avoid seeing because they're not pro-VBAC she couldn't think of anyone.  So while this is just the first appointment and just the perspective of the NP, I'm still feeling hopeful.  Our next appointment will be in four weeks and it will be with the doctor that did my c-section.  She was the one that closed me up and while she was doing it was telling me that she hopes I try for VBAC because I was an ideal candidate for my natural med-free birth I wanted, just didn't get it because of DS being breech.  She took her time using special stitching to close me to help decrease the chance of rupture even further.  She was awesome.  So I'm feeling hopeful, but we'll see what the next several months bring.

So far so good, so we'll see if it continues.   In the mean time I love coming here to read of other's successes and frustrations because it's awesome to learn from.
